My father is a Trekkie

For the longest time, I knew that my father like Science fiction. He was always flicking between the sci-fi channel and the Celtics. He would watch Stargate, Star Wars, and, sadly, Star Trek.

I remember one night at our camp In the town of Beddington, (western Maine) when DS9 was a running show, he showed us kids an episode. It took weeks to get over the nightmares (it was a scary one for a 10/11 year-old).

But, now that I am older, he started showing more. I sadly got hooked. I do like Star Trek. No major hating please, I still love Star Wars more, but I don't understand why you can't like both. It is a TV show that I can watch when I am bored and don't feel like taking out a movie. (Usually, I only have time for an hour show anyway).

So, for those of you who are appalled, GET OVER IT. You can live with it, in harmony. Actually, it give you a leg up. At least I won't ever be confused. And I love my dad anyway. (mom always just fell asleep).

Yep. That's about my story too. I grew up with both, but this is my preference. ST is his. I stopped watching ST after the first two series. At least Dad'll have a son-in-law to watch it with him.
