Buck and The Beecher Boys, WHAT????
Okay, for those of you who have seen my profile, this part of my intrests must have been a little baffling. Not to worry, LLA1 is here to make everything clear again.
It all started when I joined Swing Club (go figure). There was this older couple who had been doing swing for many years, even went on tour! Well, I got to talking with the older gentlemen, and he mentioned that he and some of his swing buds had this hillbilly band. They had a banjo, mandolin, bass guitar... but no fiddle. Well, silly little me then said "Well I play the violin and have been for many years (12)." I was stuck. I went to a practice to see what I could see and learned all the songs in two hours.
So, here I am, in a little band that does charity concerts in the Bangor area. The band members wears jeans and a special tee-shirt, while the wives have sqare dance outfits and clog to our live music. I sing as well, and am by FAR the most musical. But, you gotta remember, these guys have only been playing for MAYBE a total of one year. So for the way they have come, they do quite well. I congradulate them (and me for keeping them straight and on the beat...Not an easy task).
We got a website if you want to check it out... www.hillbillyband.com
